Field Trips
Filed trips are planned and executed approximately one time per month to allow for generalization, and the opportunity to practice skills and behaviors taught in the clinical setting in a public environment.
Ø The one to one ratio is maintained on field trips and two-one supervision is provided for children who practice eloping.
Ø Parents are notified of field trips in advance and are provided with specifics regarding plans.
Ø Transportation is provided using a 10 or 15 passenger van. Children who use car seats or booster seats are buckled in using appropriate child restraint systems.
Ø Medication scheduled to be given during the clinic day is given at the ordered time during field trips.
Ø For field trips that take place through snack and/or lunch time, parents are required to provide food for children, unless the snack or lunch is part of the field trip. Parents of children on special diets will be required to provide appropriate food during the field trip.
Ø Attempts will be made to secure activities that do not involve a fee for admission or participation. However, any fees incurred or required for field trips will be the responsibility of the parents.
