Tyler Rose Self-Advocates is an adult group established to encourage self-advocacy for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The self-advocates program empowers individuals to cope with the difficulties of life and live up to their greatest potential. Group members receive formal training from The Arc of Texas, The Arc national offices and local advisors to learn how to plan and organize their lives and advocate for people with disabilities. The group meets monthly, elects its own officers, and conducts business and exchanges ideas.
